QuickBooks IIF fileThe FinancialDataTools.com IIF Viewer is a free, browser-based tool for opening, inspecting, and exporting QuickBooks IIF files. It runs entirely in your browser — no file is ever uploaded to any server.
IIF stands for Intuit Interchange Format. It is a tab-delimited text format used by QuickBooks to import and export financial data including accounts, transactions, customers, vendors, and inventory items. IIF files are organized into record-type sections defined by lines beginning with an exclamation mark.
The viewer supports all standard IIF record types: ACCNT (accounts), TRNS and SPL (transactions and splits), CUST (customers), VEND (vendors), INVITEM (inventory items), CLASS (classes), PAYMETH (payment methods), TERMS (payment terms), and more.
Browse records by type using the tab bar. Sort any column ascending or descending. Filter rows by column values or custom conditions. Export data to CSV, JSON, TSV, or Excel (.xlsx).
All file processing happens inside your browser using JavaScript. No file content is transmitted to any server. Your QuickBooks financial data stays private on your device.
Click the Open button or drag and drop your IIF file onto the viewer. Your data appears organized by record type in tabs. Click a tab to view that record type. Use the search box to find values. Click column headers to sort. Use the filter buttons for advanced filtering. Click Export to download the current view in your preferred format.
Inspect QuickBooks account exports before import. Review transaction and split records in TRNS/SPL sections. Audit customer and vendor lists. Verify inventory items and pricing. Convert IIF data to Excel for further analysis or reporting.
